The last couple weeks we have been bringing in some different towns for full lists of the best places to eat.
Normally in our Best Food In Polk County coverage our main focus has been listicles that cover Polk, Lakeland and Winter Haven because those are the main hubs.
But now we've also added in The Best Places To Eat In Bartow and The Best Places To Eat In Haines City in back to back weeks and you guys have been really enjoying it.
So we're keeping it going this week as well!
Which brings us to...
The Best Places To Eat in Davenport, Florida.
And, as always, this isn’t just a list I’ve put together based on my own preferences…
This list was built from HUNDREDS of votes, from locals just like you.

Best Of British Cafe / Pub just missed the top 5 even with their new address being in Clermont. They were originally located in Davenport and moved to Clermont early 2025.
First Place: Davenport Diner
The Best Place To Eat In Davenport, Florida
Davenport Diner — 40230 US-27, Davenport
Davenport Diner EASILY comes in at the number one spot.
They have been getting shout outs in lists we've put up for months now.
They made our list for the best food in Haines City, and people sent in late votes to tell us our Best Breakfast In Polk needed to be amended (or counted for whenever the update was being done).
This is a spot that locals are passionate about.
With voters saying things like:
- "Davenport Diner. Large portions, great prices. Food and service have been great."
- "Davenport Diner! No doubt."
- "Easy answer is Davenport diner"
Katie and I don't *normally* go for a diner as our first pick — but this is one that could change our minds.
Second Place: Cooter's Smokehouse
The Second Best Place To Eat In Davenport, Florida
Cooter's Smokehouse — 301 Maple St W, Davenport
Coming in second is Cooter's Smokehouse.
This one stood out not just for the food, but also for the people.
If you like BBQ or steak, this is your spot.
Voters said things like:
- "Cooters Smokehouse, you need go no further. Winners of hundreds of awards for their cooking. Their BBQ is fantastic."
- "The Hotel Flower Corner, home of Cooters N Smoke. Great food, super nice people."
- "Cooter's Smokehouse!!! Friday night steaks awesome as well!!!"
If we did a best BBQ in Davenport list, this one would definitely be way at the top.
Third Place: Ovation Bistro & Bar
The Third Best Place To Eat In Davenport, Florida
Ovation Bistro & Bar — 42605 US-27, Davenport
Rounding out our top three is Ovation Bistro & Bar.
This one came in strong, but Davenport Diner and Cooter's just had a couple of polls that just slightly pushed Ovation out of the top 2.
And although Ovation and Cooter's have SOME overlap, they are definitely different enough when it comes to vibes that it feels nice having them both at the top here together.
Voters said things like:
- "Ovation Bistro is top of our list of favorites. We love their smoked brisket."
- "I will always recommend Ovation Bistro & Bar, Davenport."
- "Ovation for amazing ribs."
Comments were talking about the brisket and ribs, but my eyes were actually on the burgers I saw.
Fourth Place: Adler's Burgers
The Fourth Best Place To Eat In Davenport, Florida
Adler's Burgers — 113 Ambersweet Wy, Davenport
Coming in fourth is Adler's.
Katie and I LOVE Adler's. We did a full review for our Polk Food Quest that you can read here; and are extremely excited that they recently opened walking distance from us in downtown Auburndale.
Voters said things like:
- "Adler's for burgers and Ovation for a casual sit down!"
- Adler's have the best burgers in Polk.
- "Adler's for burgers and wings"
Adler's topped the list for The Best Burgers In Winter Haven, so it should be no surprise that they top the list here.
Fifth Place: Zoey's Pasta On The Go
The Fifth Best Place To Eat In Davenport, Florida
Zoey's Pasta On The Go — 145 Ridge Center Dr, Davenport
Finishing up our top five is Zoey's Pasta On The Go.
Part food truck energy, part full menu, and apparently the lasagna is the move.
This is the one in the top five that surprised me a little at first; but then after some research it all made sense.
Voters said things like:
- "They do both, take out and dine in. My favorite is the Lasagna and the Loaded Mac and Cheese."
- "Zoey's Pasta on the Go is really good!!!"
- "You have to try Zoey's Pasta"
Proof that a smaller operation can still take a top-five spot on pure word of mouth.
Other Great Places To Eat In Davenport, Florida
If you’re anything like me, you want to try all the best places to eat in Davenport, Florida so you can be the judge for yourself.
So here is the rest of the top ten best places to eat in Davenport, Florida (in order 6-10):
- #6 — Best Of British Cafe / Pub (Clermont)
- #7 — Giovanni's Pizza
- #8 — Honey's BBQ (Posner Park)
- #9 — DiRomio's Pizza (Italian)
- #10 — Thailicious 27 (Thai)
Which gives us the full top 10 best places to eat in Davenport.
And brings us to the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
My personal opinion (that no one asked for 
).
Here are the spots in Davenport I'm most excited to try:
- Best Of British Pub
- Davenport Diner
- Cooter's Smokehouse
Normally I give my top 3 spots, almost always saving the third spot so I can go try everywhere first and give a real and full review of each.
But this time I'm switching it up and sharing the spots I'm most excited to try.
And, even though Best Of British Pub is technically in Clermont, it originally opened in Davenport, which is why it made the top 10 — and it looks SO fun and unique.
Adler's is another one that would have likely came in first if I was doing my top 3 spots, but I should make mention to the fact that we're walking distance from the one in Auburndale and I LOVE it there.
