Adler's Burgers Review (Winter Haven & Auburndale)

Quick Take:

📍 Location: Auburndale & Winter Haven

🍽 What I ordered: Classic Cheeseburger (Extra Patty), Fries & Fried Mac & Cheese

🍴 Extra Order (Wife/Katie's Order): Twitty Burger (Extra Patty) & Sweet Potato Fries

⭐ Final Score: 5/5

💰 Price: ~$10–$20 per person

For my sixth stop on Mike’s Polk Food Quest, I visited Adler's for their grand opening in Downtown Auburndale.

We LOVE Adler's and have been there many times in Winter Haven, but it was very nice getting to be there for the grand opening and check out the new location.

Adler's new spot also has a bar attached to it which is named Revel Jane’s: A Drinking Establishment, which we also had the pleasure of visiting (hence the Guinness and Mango Cart in the picture above).

Not to spoil anything for you, but Adler's has already come in as the top choice on our list of The Best Burgers In Winter Haven, based on hundreds of local votes.

I don't want to make a direct comparison to other food in the same category each time I do a review, but because I also hit Grievous Angel for their grand opening recently (in Lakeland), I just want to say this...

If you are in Lakeland and want burgers ... go to Grievous Angel!

If you are in Winter Haven or Auburndale and want burgers ... go to Adler's!
By the way: if you're new here, the concept of my Polk Food Quest is simple: every week I try a local spot, order the most common thing people get, try a few extras, and rank it on taste, value, vibes, and overall.

This week: Classic Cheeseburger

Which means I ordered a classic cheeseburger (with an extra patty) and a side of fries as my "main dish" and Katie ordered the twitty burger (with an extra patty), sweet potato fries, and fried mac and cheese.

Auburndale spots usually get lumped into Winter Haven roundups, so if you're in either spot and also want to see some of the best pizza places, you can check our my article on The Best Pizza Places In Winter Haven as well.

How Does This Work?

I order the standard item for that category (for burger shop that’s a classic cheeseburger, plus a few extras so I can get a full feel for the menu.

Then I rank the experience on four things:

🍽️ Taste | 💰 Value | 📍 Vibes | 🏆 Overall

Taste focuses on the standard item.
The rest reflects the entire experience.

Adler's Burgers Review

🍽️ Taste: 5/5

There's a reason why Adler's came in as the number one burger spot in Winter Haven ... by a landslide.

They have some of the best burgers in all of Polk County.

So it should be no surprise that I'm giving them a 5/5 for taste.

This section is based on the classic cheeseburger, to keep it fair across the board when reviewing burger spots across the county, but everything we had (and have ever had from Adler's) gets a strong 5/5.

Katie ordered a twitty burger, and I personally prefer the classic cheeseburger (not just at Adler's but in general), BUT ... when you're in the mood for the twitty, you can't beat it.

The fries, both classic and sweet potato are always incredible — and if you're a little bit hungrier than usual — youn can't go wrong with any of the sides.

Fries mac 'n' cheese are our go-to but that's just because Katie doesn't let me get jalapeno fire crackers or fries cheese pickles! 😂

💰 Value: 5/5

Some of the best burgers in the county for $9?

Easy 5/5 value.

I'm always worried about going out and having to spend $50 just to make sure I don't go home still hungry.

When you go to Adler's you can grab a burger and fries and know for sure you're going home full.

Even the drinks in Revel Jane's were only $5-6 each.

We saw the price after ordering combos for each of us, with an extra patty on both burgers, and said "How can we NOT add in fries mac 'n' cheese!?"

Adler's Burgers Review

📍 Vibes: 5/5

Katie and I love both the Auburndale location AND the Winter Haven location.

I know this has me visiting the Auburndale location, and because of that I will also be talking about Revel Janes (the new bar attached to Adler's in Auburndale), but I also want to highlight the Winter Haven spot a bit being that it's also one of our favorites.

I'll start by pointing out that the staff and ownership are incredible and "vibes" in terms of service is there for both locations, so in my little snippets below I'll mainly be discussing the actual location and setting rather than service.

Winter Haven Location: Love the vibes. The location in Winter Haven, the outdoor seating, all of it. It gives old school meets new school at a local spot that dishes out some of the best food around. This will always be the OG location for us.

Auburndale Location: This couldn't get any better. Right in the center/heart of Downtown Auburndale, with a new bar (Revel Jane's) attached, outdoor seating, cornhole ... what more could we ask for. This one is a gem.

The vibes are an easy 5/5 at both locations for me.

🏆 Overall: 5/5

Considering I just gave Adler's 5/5 across the board, the Overall Score seems pretty easy for us: 5/5.

If you're not choosing which location to go to based on their proximity, I would go to Winter Haven if you want a quick bite and outdoor seating (there is outdoor seating in Auburndale, but I think the vibes in Winter Haven are more my speed) and Auburndale if you want to grab a drink at Revel Jane's and sit at the bar (or even go for a walk around Auburndale downtown after).

Would I bring my visiting family there?

Without a doubt!

We happen to live in Auburndale, a couple blocks from downtown, so we are SO excited for this new location and Adler's will always be our go-to when we're craving a burger.

When my family visits from Long Island (or Katie's from New Jersey); this is a spot we know we'll never go wrong with.

Here’s how I’d sum up Adler's:

If you want the best burger in Winter Haven / Auburndale, this is your spot.

It's not a debate.

The classic cheeseburger is everything a burger should be and the twitty burger had Katie basically refusing to share. 😂 The sides are all amazing, the value is unreal, and both locations bring something different to the table.

Katie and I are going to be regulars at the Auburndale location for a long time.

  • We love Adlers! We first experienced their burgers in Winter Haven and got hooked! Opening a location in Auburndale closer to our home was just icing on the cake!

We end up splitting a burger sometimes just we can get the fire crackers AND the Mac n cheese bites!

  • We love Adlers, but even a single patty burger is generously sized and the combo with fries is definitely shareable. My husband and I will often get one combo meal, then one other burger and drink. We share the fries and are more than full by the end of the meal. Delicious. And I agree, the Winter Haven location has the better vibe.
