A new McDonald's is coming to Lakeland.
We found a site plan filed with Polk County for a 3,827 square foot restaurant at 7206 and 7210 Kathleen Road, near Duff Road.
The plan, filed under record LDNON-2026-92, calls for a dual drive-thru with about 50 seats. The 1.13-acre site is zoned CC (Convenience Center), and the two existing houses currently on the property will be demolished to make way for construction.
The application lists the project internally as McDonald's L/C#009-2831.
The plan is still moving through Polk County's Development Review Committee site plan process, so a building permit — and construction — is still a ways off.
No opening date has been announced.
This adds to a growing list of activity on Kathleen Road, which also saw a Dunkin' rebuild announced last week.
