A new Starbucks is coming to Highland City.
Polk County permit records show a tenant buildout filed Oct. 15 for “Starbucks #89908” at 4322 Central Ave, a few blocks off US-98.
The building it’s going into is a new shell building, permitted in May to be finished out by a tenant under a separate permit. That separate permit is the Starbucks one.
County inspection records show the building’s foundation passed inspection in September.
The Starbucks permit application was just received by the county.

It’s part of a small new strip on Central Ave. Permits on the same stretch show a Chipotle with a drive-thru lane and a Take 5 Oil Change, across the street from The Learning Experience daycare.
There is no Starbucks in Highland City right now. The closest are on US-98 in Bartow and on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, each about five miles away.
No opening date has been announced.
We found this by monitoring Polk County’s public permit portal.
