The Publix at Spirit Lake Crossing in Winter Haven is getting a brand new building.
We found a site plan filed with Polk County for a tear down and rebuild of the store at 1090 Spirit Lake Rd.
According to the filing, only the Publix and its liquor store will be rebuilt. The plans also include new parking infrastructure and stormwater management.
The site plan was filed Sept. 30 and is still listed as In Review, so it's in the early stages.
Publix hasn't announced a construction timeline or whether the store will close during the rebuild.
We found this by monitoring Polk County's public permit portal.
