Chipotle is coming to Auburndale.
The Polk Squeeze found a building permit filed with the City of Auburndale for a buildout at 110 Recker Hwy, near the corner of US 92.
The permit was issued in July 2025 for a dark shell, a base building constructed without a named tenant yet attached. The description on file directly reads, "Dark Shell for future tenant for a Chipotle Mex Grill."
A separate contractor bid for the interior buildout closed August 10, with MEC General Contractors of Orlando listed on the project.
Construction is visibly underway on site as of early September.
The location sits at the signalized corner of US 92 and Recker Hwy, next to Aldi and across from Walmart. A site plan for the corner also shows a proposed Take 5 Oil Change and a second retail building going up on the same lot.
No opening date has been announced.
