Nick & Moe's is coming to Winter Haven.
We found two records filed with Polk County for a new Nick & Moe's convenience store and gas station at 0 NW 42nd St. The county lists the project as "Nick & Moe's - Ave G NW."
The "0" address means the parcel is vacant and hasn't been assigned a street number yet.
Plans call for a 6,333-square-foot store with 8 dual-sided fueling positions for cars and 4 fueling positions for large trucks, plus sidewalk and driveway improvements.
A second permit covers the underground fuel tanks: two 20,000-gallon gas tanks, a 12,000-gallon diesel tank, and a DEF tank (the exhaust fluid diesel trucks use).
The tank permit is listed as "Fees Due," so it hasn't been issued yet.
This would be the third Nick & Moe's in Polk County and the first outside Lakeland. The chain already runs stores at 4410 Kathleen Rd and 2750 US Hwy 98 N in Lakeland.
Nick & Moe's stores are more than a gas stop. Locations offer Nick & Moes Famous Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, and Quiznos, plus walk-in beer caves, according to the company.
The chain started as a small deli in Detroit before moving to Florida in the early 2000s. According to What Now, it recently signed franchise deals to expand into Georgia and Texas.
No opening date has been announced.
