CAVA Coming To Davenport, But What Happened To Lakeland

CAVA is coming to Polk County.

The Davenport location at Posner Village has every permit closed out. Walk-in cooler, kitchen hood, fire suppression, signage, all done as of mid-May.

As of early April, the location was actively hiring and construction was wrapping up, according to job listings and local social posts.

We couldn't find an official open date, but signs point to it being any day.

But back in January, CAVA was also supposed to be coming to Lakeland.

A local Facebook post and a report from 6AM City both pointed to 4200 US Hwy 98 N, in the Village Plaza shopping center near Hobby Lobby and Outback, with Dutch Bros Coffee opening right next to it.

Both linked to CAVA's own website as their source.

When we checked the site we only found Posner coming soon, and no sign of any Lakeland location listed.

CAVA's current store locator shows only Posner Village for Polk County.

Dutch Bros' locator shows the same gap, just two Davenport locations on Highway 27, nothing in Lakeland.

No building permits have been filed for 4200 US Hwy 98 N. We checked both Polk County's Accela system and the City of Lakeland's iMS portal.

As recently as May, locals in Lakeland Facebook groups were still asking what happened to it. One commenter said she'd heard a 2027 timeline.

Nothing official has confirmed that.

It's not clear whether the Lakeland location was delayed, the listing was pulled while a lease finalizes, or it fell through entirely. We'll update this if anything changes.
